On May 6, 2010, RED HOT IN THE CITY raised over $200,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia

Now, on the heels of Halifax's fabulous fundraiser RED HOT in the CITY, to which Bish World Cuisine was proud to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, we are moving quickly to ready for summer. We are very pleased to introduce the newest member of our team, Maitre D’ Hakan Uluer, who hails to us from Istanbul via Vancouver. Hakan adds his own unique flavour and experience to our World Cuisine, and we warmly welcome him to Bish and to Nova Scotia. June 7th will see the arrival of a new and innovative menu, as well as the patio season at Bish. There is nothing that quite compares to enjoying a perfectly chilled martini and waterfront vistas while relaxing on Bish’s harbourside patio. Maurizio Bertossi has created a fresh summer menu with exciting new flavours and the return of popular favourites. Try the new Triple Cheese Ravioli or the Ginger Lacquered Pork Tenderloin, or satisfy your craving for our Bish Fish & Frites, back for the summer by popular demand. Sample the Key Lime Pie with toasted coconut crust, or choose from Maurizio’s incredible array of handmade Gelato, perfect for summer. We also have fabulous wines for you to enjoy, including the refreshing NOVA 7 and the smoothly enticing TAURUS, both from Benjamin Bridge in the Gaspereau Valley. Spring at Bish World Cuisine
Bish World Cuisine eagerly awaits the official arrival of spring! With the longer daylight hours and the less chilly temperatures, the hope of spring is finally becoming a welcome reality. A warm thank you is extended to those guests who enjoyed our fantastic Savour Food and Wine Festival Prix Fixe menu from February 1 - 11th, as well as those who joined us for our romantic Valentine’s weekend. Our experienced kitchen team, headed by Chef Maurizio Bertossi, created a wonderful Valentine's Prix Fixe menu that was enjoyed and complimented by our many guests. A new menu and wine list are on the horizon for the month of April. The anticipation of exciting new flavours as well as returning favourites remains a highlight to every spring at Bish World Cuisine. Once again we are honoured to have been recognized as a CAA / AAA Four Diamond restaurant for a fifth consecutive year. At Bish World Cuisine we are committed to providing a premier dining experience to all of our guests by consistently exceeding expectations. This award acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our staff. In keeping with the arrival of spring, Bish will close for the week of March 15 – 20th for its annual nip and tuck. Winter at Bish
A big thank you to all guests who attended this years New year's Eve celebration at Bish. The evening guests, along with the addition of the Bubble Room and fireworks at mid-night, all contributed to make the evening a wonderful success. A big thank you to Southwest Properties who partnered  with Bish in presenting the fabulous fireworks. In welcoming in the year 2010, there are prix fixe menus and special a Private Dining room event coming soon at Bish. - In conjunction with the Savour Food and Wine Festival which continues throughout the month of February, Bish will feature a Prix Fixe menu from the 1st until the 11th of February. The menu will be posted to this site in the next few weeks. - As well, look for an evening of spectacular dining planned for our Private Dining room for a Saturday in February. Fall has arrived
Now that fall has arrived it is wonderful to see all of those familiar faces we have missed over our busy summer. Along with many visiting guests, it certainly was the summer of larger functions, from corporate events to wedding party's of varying sizes. Bish is a great venue for events of almost any size. Patio Season and New Menu
Well June is finally here and we eagerly await summer solstice and the arrival of the summer patio season at Bish. Now those panoramic views which are enjoyed all year from inside the main dining room may also be enjoyed outside, along Halifax's waterfront boardwalk. Add to that our new spring and summer menu which debut mid-April; to which response has been outstanding, you have the recipe for an amazing evening.

On behalf of the Bertossi Restaurant Group, I would like to welcome you to our new website!  The Bertossi Restaurant Group recently gave its Il Mercato, Ristorante a Mano and Bish World Cuisine restaurants message makeovers.  Now each restaurant's unique character shines through and better communicates the kind of culinary experience you can expect at our Bish World Cuisine, Il Mercato or Ristorante aMano restaurants.   The websites are also easier to navigate and include special events and theme night announcements.

Fabulous February
February is always a busy one for Bish as it is Savour Food and Wine Festival month.  Maurizio Bertossi, Bish owner and head chef, created two separate Prix Fixe menus – each running for one week.  Prix Fixe allows you to enjoy a number of exceptional dishes and at a set price that is – well – rather appetizing!  The first prix fixe menu featured seared breast of duck, confit leg with a Paulliac wine reduction, slow cooked garlic white beans and white truffle glazed asparagus; and, the second featured herb roasted rack of lamb with confit garlic cream and lamb jus, rosemary goat cheese potatoes and green beans. Valentines was completely sold out at Bish – Customers swooned over sumptuous evening specials artfully prepared and presented by our own Maurizio Bertossi – and vowed to be back next year!   

On the 7th of February Bish hosted An Evening in Bordeaux. The event took place in our Private Dining Room and welcomed 24 guests to enjoy cuisine typical to the Bordeaux region accompanied by specially selected wines for each flavourful course. Our Executive Sous Chef Ludovic Eveno offered insight as to how each course was prepared; and, with his heavy French accent, added a lovely authentic European feel to what was truly a night to remember.  

March welcomes the spring season and with it, our annual March makeover…yes, each year we take some time to do a little nip and tuck (maintenance and repair) so that we are refreshed and ready for our busy spring and summer seasons. Bish will be closed March 16 through to March 21st, re-opening on March 23rd

On March 28th, we will celebrate the arrival of spring, with a culinary theme night we call:  Un Amor Clamat Friuli- A Passion called Friuli.  Held in our Private Dining Room, the menu will feature Northern Italian cuisine from Maurizio's home region of Friuli.
